  • Cottage Garden Music Boxes

While browsing through the bookstore today, I found these amazing Music Boxes. First of all, I have to tell you that I love music boxes, but these are beyond anything I've seen before.Cottage Garden has created a music box that you can customize for that special person in your life or for yourself, because you're special, too!

I love choices and with Music Boxes by You, there are lots of choices to make. First you have many box designs to choose between from intricately carved to sleek contemporary. Then you can select the sentiment to display in box top. Next you have the choice between the traditional pin and tines mechanism, for that nostalgic sound or you and select a cartridge that will play one of your favorite gospel artists (Michael W. Smith, Mercy Me, Third Day and many more). And if that's not enough, there is even a design that allows you to record your own personal message.

There's room inside to store jewelry, pictures, keepsakes, etc.

    It's easy...

    1. Select your Box
    2. Select your Song
    3. Select your Sentiment
What a great gift for that special someone in your life!

  • Willow Tree Sculptures

Willow Tree Sculptures by Susan Lordi

I was recently introduced to Willow Tree sculptures by my daughter, a preschool teacher, who was given one by grateful parents of a special needs child. I fell in love immediately with the simple, expressive beauty of artist, Susan Lordi’s work.

Each piece is hand carved by Susan, using family and friends as models, capturing a moment in time or an expression of a feeling. Her pieces are cast from her original carving, then individually painted by hand. A soft wash of color brings out that distinct Willow Tree. Additional carved and metal accents finish the piece exquisitely.

Susan’s sculptures were introduced in 2000 and has grown to encompass those sentiments that we all experience and wish to convey to those who make a difference in our lives.  These expressive sculptures would make a wonderful gift and keepsake for any occasion.

Crossroads carries a large line of Susan Lordi’s Willow Tree sculptures. Stop in soon and pick one up for someone you love.

  • Bible Covers

“A Bible that’s falling apart usually belongs to someone who isn’t.”  ― Charles H. Spurgeon

Is your Bible looking a bit tattered?

Mine is and that’s a good thing, but it’s still a bit of an embarrassment when I take it to church, my small group or bible study. The spine has been covered in duct tape! (My husband’s solution when the dog got hold of it one day.)

I could replace it with a brand new Bible, but this old book is a treasure to me. It’s seen me through a lot of life’s ups and down, been my comfort and hope through the bad times and a source of joy in the good times. I’ve got all my favorite passages highlighted and underlined. I’ve written in the margins and I know just where to flip it open to my favorite verse.

Nope, replacing it is not an option, but a beautiful Bible cover is a great solution. I found this awesome purple one at Crossroads Books and Coffee today. You can bet it’s going on my Wish List for my birthday next month!

Crossroads has a great selection of Bible covers, from frilly to posh, camouflage to premium leather. I’m sure you could find one that’s perfect for you!
